Flag Craft Night Update

Craft Night will be held in Mandi Rosenbeck's backyard at 6:30 on Thursday, June 21st.  The location and time have been changed because the craft is easier to make by laying it out on the ground and will be a lot easier to clean up than at the church.

Lets give it a try: CUTEST FLAG EVER!

I don't pretend to know what I am doing, but I think it will be quick and easy. (the original artist even says the same here:   http://thecreativecrate.blogspot.com/2010/07/diy-fence-wood-flag.html) AND cheap. I have enough boards from our fence that we just tore down, so all we will need is paint and wire. I will have the boards cut to size and ready to paint.

We will be meeting Thurs. the 21st. I am guessing it will cost around $5, although I havn't done any research into that part.

I will take any  advice on what kind of paint and wire to use. Like I said before, I have no idea what i am doing here! I just wanted to make something cute with my old fence and thought you might too. And if you have any extra supplies collecting dust that may be useful, let me know.

UPDATE: looks like Thurs. the 21st is going to be best. We will do it at the church on 200 S. at 7:00.

***one more thing: these will be pretty big-not front door size. if you want one that fits on your door let me know and i will split the boards to make the dimensions work. i will plan on the big size unless you tell me different.

Girls Hair Bows

We have decided to do another craft night! Please read this entire post carefully there is a lot of information. It will be held Thurs. May 3. at the preschool. We are going to try something new this time, instead of raising the cost of supplies we are going to charge $5 fee to participate; which will pay for our time to order supplies and set up, etc. Then you will only be charged the actual cost of the supplies. We will need all money by Thurs April 19 so I have time to order supplies. Please write down what you want to order exactly how it is on the webpage so I order the correct flowers for you.
Now, that we got that out of the way, let me tell you about the craft. I am so excited and I hope this works out. I am really loving all the cute headbands and I finally found a website that has just the flowers and bows at wholesale pricing. They also have feathers and a few embellishments. The website is sparkle in pink Look at the website and then let me know what you want to order. They have elastic headbands that you can order if you would like.
I will be ordering two types of elastic from elastic by the yard. I will be ordering white, black, and pink in the 1/4" elastic and white and black in the 'fold over elastic' the cost for the elastic is .50 for each headband you want to make. If you want a different color you will have to purchase the whole roll. It's $3/5 yards plus $1 for shipping.
To figure out how much you owe add up the amount from sparkle in pink then add 6.55% sales tax. Then add $1 for shipping. That will be your total for sparkle in pink.
If you want elastic add .50 for each headband (shipping is included with that, you do not need to add tax). that will be your total for elastic by the yard.
Add the $5 fee and you will have your grand total.
You can pay Jenni or myself.
I really hope this is not confusing. I was trying to do it the cheapest/easiest/fairest way possible!
Bring your own glue guns and glue sticks. I will provide the felt and alligator clips and some ribbon to cover the clips (if you want to make clips instead of headbands). Also feel free to bring any other accessories that you want like ribbon, tulle, jewels, fabric, feather, brads, paper flowers, we can all share and trade supplies. If you have questions call, email or fb msg me. I think this is going to be fun and a lot cheaper than you can buy them for. Here are few examples of the many, many flowers they have to choose from!

If you are interested in a fun home decor idea either for spring or just your home, there was a great suggestion for over a little girls crib/bed here is something I have found and it is easy, no sew no glue (uness you do not want to use straight pins) . I made three small ones for Valentines that I will post about later. If you are interested in this at all please leave a comment and I will get price details for you. It is just a matter of fabric, styrofoam balls and straight pins.
Small: 2 inch styrofoam ball 1/2 yard of fabric or corresponding fabrics, box of straight pins or glue gun and sticks, anywhere from 1/2 to 1 yard of ribbon to hang depending on what length you want or total price of $5.00

Medium: 4 inch styrofoam ball 3/4 yard of fabric or corresponding fabrics, box of straight pins or glue gun and sticks, anywhere from 1/2 to 1 yard of ribbon to hang depending on what length you want or total price of $7.50

Large: 6 inch styrofoam ball 1 1/2 yard of fabric or corresponding fabrics, box of straight pins or glue gun and sticks, anywhere from 1/2 to 1 yard of ribbon to hang depending on what length you want or total price of $10.00

If you want to do the tule version all you need is cardboard string and lots lots of tulle could be cheaper by half the price!

Ideas: I just used scrap fabric and materials around the house and my total cost was free.

I thought for the new year we could all try to get organised and my biggest project is cleaning the house and helping my kids to enjoy helping. So thanks to Dee Dee from this blog (click on the word blog and it will direct you to her site) she has come up with a fun way to get your chores done with the help of your family. I will provide all the supplies except for the can bring your own. Total price includes sticks, copies of chores, modpodge, brushes and some paint (I have lots of old paints so if you have a pecific color bring your own or just keep it the stick color) $7.50

January's Craft!!!

Isn't this so dang cute!! I always struggle to find a cute wreath or door hanging sign for my door every year for January! I think its because there really isn't a holiday other then new years that falls in that month, so it always hard to know what to put on the door, especially when there is still so much snow on the ground too! I think this SNOW FLAKE will be perfect!! This is so so easy to make!! It is made out of Popsicle sticks!! How easy is that!!
We will be making The Snow Flake Wreath on January 12th, 2011
at: 7:00pm-10:00pm at the Wilde for Learning Preschool.
Price: $8.00
That includes the jumbo Popsicle sticks(42), Wood circle disc (Center), glue sticks, white paint, tulle or ribbon, glitter.
I forgot to add in the Wood discs around the Snowflake so if you would like the 12 round wood discs then you would pay $11.00,
I will plan on using chip board that's is thick enough to look like wood and holds up just as good too for the ones that still want to pay the $8.00.
Also, another question people has had is... "What if i have a White door?" If you have a white door then you are more then welcome to bring your own color of paint, like blue, red, silver, gold.... etc.
I will only be providing the WHITE paint! If you have any more questions feel free to ask me. Thanks!
I will need everyone's money by December 28th
Sign up on the Blog or on Facebook!!
Hope to see a lot of you there!!
